After serving as VP-Finance\, Membership\, and Operations\, Anna became the local chapter president for the city of Houston. \nDuring her leadership\, the HACEMOS Houston Chapter increased in membership\, engagement and more than doubled the impact from prior years\, outpacing the long-time leading Dallas chapter\, where corporate headquarters is located. Despite being elected during the worldwide pandemic\, HACEMOS excelled and earned more than 10 awards at the national level\, including Top 15 ERGs 2020 & 2021\, Latina Style Magazine; Employee Resource Group of the Year 2021\, USHCC; and the ERG’s initiative Latino Talks won Best Overall 2021 at the Employee Group Annual Conference and raised over $20\,000 for initiatives. This was a first for HACEMOS. \nAnna has served on several non-profit boards\, advisory boards\, committees\, and has mentored hundreds of students\, colleagues\, small-business\, and non-profit leaders throughout her career. She has earned several recognitions for her leadership and received the Presidential Volunteer Service Awards at the Gold and Silver levels for the last ten years. \nUpon completion of her career at AT&T\, she was approached by several organizations to serve as a strategy consultant and in November 2022\, just one month after her departure from AT&T\, Anna L Garcia Consulting\, LLC was established. \nAnna holds a degree in Business Studies from Dallas Baptist University and a Master of Business Administration-Global Business from the University of Phoenix. She is the wife of 25 years to Edgar and the mother to three young-adult children\, one of which is preparing to welcome her first grandson. She enjoys traveling with her family and exploring National Parks. \nHighlights of Community Impact – Anna L Garcia \n\nChampioned multiple award-winning initiatives for HACEMOS\, including Latino Talks\, Emerging Latina Leadership Program\, C.R.E.C.E.R mentorship program\, and Surplus Survival.\nEmpowered over 50 Latinas in 2021-2022 to negotiate a new role and higher salary\n2022 Chase Your Dreams Award- Human Trafficking Awareness\n2022 Houston Business Journal Nominee for Women Who Mean Business\n2022 Advocate for Change Award – Over 100 Students Mentored\n2021 Supplier Diversity Award – Collaboration Cross Industries\n2017 DiversityFirst Leader Award- Texas Diversity Council\nPrior Advisory Board member for Power on Heels Fund\, Inc.\, Texas Diversity Council\, Primeway Federal Credit Union\, El Zocalo\, DEI Council of Texas.\nMentors and consults with a variety of individuals seeking personal\, professional\, and organizational growth.\n\n[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Contact this Speaker Directly:\nAnna Garcia\, Chief Strategy Officer of WEW & Owner of ALG Consulting \nEmail: anna@annalgarcia.com \nPhone: 832.607.5733 \nDon’t forget to RSVP![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

SUMMARY:Virtual Meeting - Leading with Intention: Rewiring Childhood Messages and Debunking Society's Expectations
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] \nGUEST SPEAKER: Valerie Rivera\nTOPIC: Leading with Intention: Rewiring Childhood Messages and Debunking Society’s Expectations\nMODERATED BY: Lollie Ramirez-Bennett\nWed\, May 10\, 2023 – 12:00PM-1:00PM CST\nValerie M. Rivera is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Clinical Supervisor in the state of Texas. She earned her undergraduate degree in social work from The University of Texas-Pan American where she also went on to receive her Master of Science in Social Work. Mrs. Rivera has experience working in school settings through a non-profit organization\, as well as supervising a team of 40+ employees and university interns. She has also worked in a hospital setting and was the first clinical therapist at a local medical school\, creating policies and procedures and offering counseling services. Mrs. Rivera is an avid believer that complex trauma endured in childhood has adverse effects in adulthood; therefore\, she has received specialized training in trauma and relationships. Today\, Mrs. Rivera is a clinical social worker and owner of a private practice\, Inner Solace Therapy\, that specializes in helping women heal from traumatic experiences and helping couples strengthen their relationship. Mrs. Rivera enjoys contributing to the professions of counseling and social work and to the community at large through training and facilitations of on-going learning. \n  \n“Leading with Intention: Rewiring Childhood Messages and Debunking Society’s Expectations” will explore the expectations placed on women by society that enables hustle culture. Women are bombarded with messages about what success looks like\, what we should aspire to\, and how we should behave. However\, these messages are often based on outdated beliefs and do not reflect the true diversity of female experiences. \nFurthermore\, many of us have received messages in childhood that have led us to lead with fear or doubt. We may have been told that we are not smart enough\, not attractive enough\, or we may have been told we are too much of something. These messages can become deeply ingrained in our beliefs and can limit our ability to lead with intention. \nWe will discuss the importance of self-awareness and reflection in identifying the messages that may be holding us back. We will also explore the power of mindset\, and how adopting a growth mindset can help us overcome limiting beliefs.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Contact this Speaker Directly:\nValerie Rivera\, LCSW-S\, Inner Solace Therapy PPLLC \nEmail: hello@innersolacetherapy.onmicrosoft.com \nWebsite: http://www.innersolacetherapy.com \nLinkedIn: https://www.innersolacetherapy.com/ \nFacebook: https://m.facebook.com/innersolacetherapy/ \nInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/innersolacetherapy/ \nPhone Number: 956-382-6641 \nDon’t forget to RSVP![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
