Born in St. Louis\, she embarked on a journey across the world with her family\, first as a military brat and later on the Christian mission field. Her adventures led her from Europe\, and the beauties of Germany\, to the jungles of Peru in the early 2000s\, where she learned Spanish\, traveled the Amazon jungle\, and welcomed Peruvian siblings into her family. SUMMARY:Virtual Meeting - From Compassion to Action: A Journey of Creating a Nonprofit
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] \nGUEST SPEAKER: Gabriela Elizondo Gonzales\nTOPIC: From Compassion to Action: A Journey of Creating a Nonprofit\nMODERATED BY: Lollie Ramirez-Bennett\nWed\, October 18\, 2023 – 12:00PM-1:00PM CST\nGabriela Elizondo Gonzales\, a wife\, mother of four and grandmother of five\, a woman of resilience and compassion. With over two decades of experience as a successful photographer\, Gabriel’s life took an unexpected turn with the onset of the pandemic. Facing canceled photoshoots and lost clients\, she found herself searching for purpose amidst the uncertainty. \nBut rather than succumbing to despair\, Gabriela chose to renew her mind and find ways to make a positive impact. As she decluttered her house\, she was reminded of those who had lost their jobs and were in dire need. A simple act of kindness to one family sparked a fire within Gabriela to do more. \nUsing her platform on social media\, Gabriela began rallying her community to help those in need. Through her subdivision’s Facebook page and personal account\, friends and neighbors donated clothing\, household items\, and furniture for families struggling to make ends meet. The response was overwhelming\, fueling Gabriela’s passion even further. \nWhat began as a mission to provide basic necessities quickly grew into something much larger. Gabriela started Gabriela’s Families in Need\, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping low-income families. With the support of her friends and partners\, she has been able to assist 252 families and counting\, offering hope\, opportunity\, and comfort in challenging times. \nAdding yet another dimension to her already multi-faceted life\, she wholeheartedly supports her son’s company\, Fly Factory Custom T-Shirts\, and Promotional Products\, serving as his trusted personal assistant. This demonstrates her unparalleled commitment to family and the success of loved ones. \nOne of Gabriela’s lifelong dreams\, as she prayerfully became the official photographer for Lakewood Church after steadfastly believing in its realization for 14 long years. Even though her season at Lakewood ended she still gets excited to share that story. Additionally\, she is the former\, Director of Photography for H Texas Magazine\, her talent and passion was showcased to a wide audience.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] \nContact this Speaker Directly:\nGabriela Elizondo Gonzales\nEmail: Gaby@photosbygabriela.com \nFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/gabriela.elizondo.gonzales?mibextid=LQQJ4d[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

SUMMARY:O'Fallon Chapter Meeting - Not Every Cloud Has a Silver Lining: Allowing Grief and Gratitude to Co-Exist
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] \nSpeaker: Kris Fulkerson\nTopic: Not Every Cloud Has a Silver Lining: Allowing Grief and Gratitude to Co-Exist\nWhere: Bella Milano – 455 Regency Park O’Fallon\, IL 62269\nMonday\, October 30\, 2023 – 11:30AM-1:00PM CST\nKris Fulkerson is the founder and President of Coping 4 Kids\, started in 2007\, and co-founder of the non-profit Coping 4 Life in 2016. Both organizations provide much needed social work support in low-resourced\, at-risk rural communities. Kris has extensive training in grief and trauma\, youth mental health needs\, suicide prevention\, and rural mental health. She has presented both nationally and locally\, in person and online. Notably\, Kris presented a national webinar on parenting teens during the pandemic through the NACG and most recently at the National Alliance for Children’s Grief National Symposium on the intersection of children’s grief and the rural mental health crisis. Kris volunteers with both Experience Camps and TAPS providing clinical care to grieving children and adolescents around the country. She was honored with a 2011 NASW Social Worker of the Year award\, a 2016 YWCA Woman of Distinction Award for her work helping women and children\, and the 2021 Horace Mann Reaching Out and Building Bridges Award by the Illinois Principals Association for her innovative mobile social work programs in rural schools. Beyond her calling to help people\, Kris kayaks\, travels\, raises her small army\, and is the main blogger on Coping’s Facebook and Instagram accounts. \nLet’s talk about what happens when our personal challenges collide with our professional lives\, and we’re left to figure out what to do in the aftermath. As women\, we are often ATAP (all things to all people) making it difficult for us to make space for our own needs during hard times. This presentation will offer one example of  what happens when personal calamity meets professional aspirations in a poignant fairy tale format\, complete with interactive activities. \nPresentation takeaways: \nAll feelings are valid \nMaking room for our grief allows us to fully experience gratitude \nAsking for what we need during personal struggle can allow growth professionally – or at least not impede it[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_column_text]Contact this Speaker Directly:\nKris Fulkerson\, Founder & Co-Founder of Coping 4 Kids & Coping 4 Life \nEmail: kris@coping4life.com \nFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/coping4life \nPhone Number: 618-830-5312[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] \nAll chapter meetings are FREE for anyone to attend.  YES!  You read that right. \n\n(We just ask that if a chapter meeting is at a restaurant location\, that you purchase a meal to support the location that is so graciously hosting our event.
