Circle?\nAn S.O.S. Circle is more than just a meeting—it’s a transformative experience where women come together to uplift and empower each other. Through the shared experiences of triumphs and tribulations\, attendees forge deep connections\, dispel feelings of isolation\, and emerge stronger\, more resilient\, and united in their journey towards personal and professional fulfillment. \nThe acronym S.O.S. stands for “Share Our Successes” or “Share Our Struggles” and embodies the core purpose of the circle: to provide a platform for women to openly discuss both their triumphs and their challenges\, knowing they are among understanding peers. \nIn a guided open forum setting\, participants are invited to bravely share their struggles and successes\, knowing that they are among a community of women who understand and empathize. \nFor many women\, celebrating successes can be challenging due to societal expectations and fear of being perceived as boastful. Likewise\, sharing struggles may feel daunting as it requires vulnerability and the fear of judgment. \nThe S.O.S. Circle offers a safe space for women to bravely share their struggles and vulnerabilities\, recognizing that doing so is not a sign of weakness but of strength and resilience. Within this circle of trust\, women find compassionate ears\, supportive shoulders\, and invaluable guidance from those who have walked similar paths.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] \nAll chapter meetings are FREE for anyone to attend.  YES!  You read that right. \n\n(We just ask that if a chapter meeting is at a restaurant location\, that you purchase a meal to support the location that is so graciously hosting our event. What Do I Need to Know?\nWhere: Bella Milano – 455 Regency Park O’Fallon\, IL 62269\nMonday\, May 20\, 2024 – 11:30AM-1:00PM CST\nI studied psychology at Belhaven College then completed a Master’s in Social Work at Washington University with a concentration in gerontology and a specialization in family therapy. My 25 year career in social work in the St Louis community includes work with psychiatric\, medical and geriatric settings. \nAging Gracefully beautifully marries my education and passions. Geriatric care management is an individualized and personalized service. I collaborate with you to tailor services to the circumstances and needs of your family. I love spending time with families and individuals and really knowing their stories. I enjoy collaborating and advocating with others including doctors\, nurses\, home health agencies\, caregivers\, etc. With years of experience\, I have knowledge of competent geriatric medical professionals and facilities in the St. Louis area. I am a willing and capable advocate for clients and families because of my passion for them and my professional experience. \nAging often refocuses our attention from activity and busyness to self-reflection and relational healing. It is my privilege to assist families to finish well during the twilight years of the older generation. My desire is to free families from daily care management tasks so they are able to relate as son\, daughter\, husband\, wife\, friend\, etc. It is my pleasure to take care of the details of life and navigate systems so that your time as a family can be spent enjoying one another. \nIt is always difficult to start conversations around aging and end of life\, but we know that preparedness helps us keep our independence. \nKey points: \n-Ways to start hard conversations. \n-Why is it important to plan for the future. \n-Important documents to have in place. \n-Housing options for seniors.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_column_text]Contact this Speaker Directly:\nMelanie Maynor\, Social Worker/Care Manager with Aging Gracefully \nEmail: aginggracefullystlouis@gmail.com \nWebsite: http://aginggracefully-stl.com \nPhone Number: 3148276654[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] \nAll chapter meetings are FREE for anyone to attend.  YES!  You read that right. \n\n(We just ask that if a chapter meeting is at a restaurant location\, that you purchase a meal to support the location that is so graciously hosting our event. SUMMARY:[CANCELLED] Houston Chapter Meeting - SOS Circles
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] \n IMPORTANT UPDATE \n\nDear Houston members and WEW community\,\n\n\n\nConsidering recent thunderstorm effects and considering the challenges many of us are facing\, we want to extend our heartfelt support and understanding to each of you. Our thoughts are with those who have been affected by the difficult aftermath of the storms.\n\nAt times like this\, it’s essential to prioritize what truly matters – our homes\, families\, and well-being. In the spirit of empathy and solidarity\, we have decided to cancel our upcoming monthly meeting. This decision is made to ensure that everyone has the time and space needed to focus on returning to normalcy and taking care of what’s most important.\n\n\n\nWe are here for you\, and we understand that sometimes\, life’s unexpected turns require us to pause\, reflect\, and regroup. Please remember to take care of yourselves and each other during this time.\n\n\n\nStay safe\, stay strong\, and remember that we are a community that supports one another through thick and thin. We look forward to coming together again when the time is right.\n\n\n\nWith warm regards and understanding\,\nWEW Leaders\n\n\nHosted by: Karla Viesca\nTOPIC: SOS Circles\nWHERE: West Houston Institute – 2811 Hayes Road\, Houston\, TX 77082\nThursday\, May 23\, 2024 – 11:30AM-1:00PM CST\nWe will all have an opportunity to share our struggles\, successes\, and strategies during this deep dive into our SOS section. \n[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_column_text] \nWhat is an S.O.S. Circle?\nAn S.O.S. Circle is more than just a meeting—it’s a transformative experience where women come together to uplift and empower each other. Attendees have the opportunity to forge deep connections\, dispel feelings of isolation\, and emerge stronger\, more resilient\, and united in their journey towards personal and professional fulfillment. \nFor many women\, celebrating successes can be challenging due to societal expectations and fear of being perceived as boastful. Likewise\, sharing struggles may feel daunting as it requires vulnerability and the fear of judgment. \nIn a guided open forum setting\, participants are invited to bravely share their triumphs and challenges\, knowing that they are among a community of women who understand and empathize. \nThe acronym S.O.S. stands for “Share Our Successes” or “Share Our Struggles” and embodies the core purpose of the circle. This offers a safe space for women to bravely share their struggles and vulnerabilities\, recognizing that doing so is not a sign of weakness but of strength and resilience. [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] \nAll chapter meetings are FREE for anyone to attend.  YES!  You read that right. \n\n(Lunch is no longer provided. If you would like to bring a bagged lunch you are more then welcome too.) \nEnjoy a proven\, structured system that embraces the building of relationships which in turn will grow your business efficiencies\, sales\, exposure\, and business processes. \nCome meet and learn from panelists\, experts\, and local women in your WEW chapter.  You will also find allies who want to help with your success and are ready to share their resources and expertise to help you take that next step in your personal and professional life. \nFor information about this chapter\, please contact our corporate team at hello@wewnational.com.\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
