Falling (Back) in Love with What You Do

I’ve come to learn that loving your work doesn’t mean you love every part of it. It means choosing to find purpose even in the less-than-glamorous moments. I’ve learned over the years, that how we show up matters more than what we’re doing.
There’s a quiet kind of magic in loving the work you do.
It might not always feel exciting or glamorous, but when you find meaning in your day-to-day (even in the smallest, most ordinary tasks) everything changes. Fulfillment isn’t about chasing the next big thing. (Although, it’s no secret, I do love chasing a new opportunity or project!) It’s often found in the little moments we slow down enough to notice. (Jay Shetty’s “Think Like a Monk” retaught me that. Highly recommend if you have not read it.)
Maybe it’s the joy of solving a problem, the satisfaction of completing a project, or the simple pride in showing up when it would have been easier not to. Work, at its best, isn’t just about outcomes, it’s about connection.
To purpose.
To people.
To yourself.
So, if your passion feels distant or your energy’s been low lately, maybe it’s time to ask yourself:
– What do I still love about what I do?
– What part of my work still makes me proud?
– What moments remind me why I started?
– What tasks or interactions bring me the most energy?
– What used to excite me that I want to reconnect with?
– What would it look like to bring more love into my daily routine?
This month, give yourself permission to fall back in love 🥰 with your mission, your gifts, your calling. Not every day will feel joyful, but the love you bring to your work has the power to transform it. Remember this is not just for you, but for everyone around you.
You don’t have to love it all. But you deserve to feel connected to what you’re building.
I’d love to hear how you stay in love with your work. I’m always looking for ways to stay inspired.
PS. I love some good affirmations so here are a few that I’ll be using to keep the “work-love” alive. ☺️
