Lessons Learned… and a Few Aha! Moments

May is… a lot. (You know what I mean.) Graduations, end of school, celebrations, emotions – all the things packed into one month. There’s something about this time of year that just feels like a collective exhale, right? Like we all made it through another school year and now it’s time to enjoy summer!

Well… unless you have a full-time career. (Jeez – those were the days, weren’t they? Three whole months off. I barely remember what that felt like – and I was even an elementary school teacher for a few years.)

As I mentioned in my last email, I’ve been working weekly with a pair of coaches – and yes, it takes two of them. I’m a lot. 😳 Since the beginning of the year we’ve been digging in and figuring things out together and I have to say… I feel a little like I’ve graduated.

Not finished. Oh no – nowhere near that. But I feel like I’ve successfully completed a level that’s going to level me up to the next one. And it has not been easy. I’ve struggled just trying to figure out the rhythm of how they work together, how I fit into that, what I’m even supposed to be learning… but growth is rarely easy, am I right?

Here’s what’s been really interesting though. The more individual and small group meetings I have with WEW members, the more I find myself naturally reflecting the things I’ve been working on with them. And then the “Aha!” moments just keep hitting me square in the face. There is SO much to learn when we’re open to hearing the hard truths – and really taking the time to sit with them, internalize them, evaluate them.

Our WEW speakers, leaders, and members have been delivering some of those moments for me too lately. More than they probably know.

So this month – I’d encourage you to show up to a few meetings. (And don’t sleep on the MEMs – there have been some really rich, honest conversations happening there.) Pay attention to what lands. Notice your “Aha!” moments.
