Embracing Both Gratitude and Thankfulness This November

I used to think gratitude and thankfulness were basically interchangeable words. In my mind, they were just two ways of saying the same thing. But as I’ve dug a little deeper, I’ve realized that each one has its own unique flavor and meaning. And I think that’s really worth exploring, especially as we step into this season that shines a spotlight on both.

So let’s take a moment to reflect on that difference and, more importantly, on how we can turn that reflection inward and show a little gratitude to ourselves. (Maybe this should be our theme during S.O.S. this month!)

Acknowledge Your Own Journey
Take a moment to reflect on how far you’ve come. Celebrate your wins, no matter how small, and be grateful for your own resilience and growth.

Give Yourself Permission to Rest
Gratitude for yourself also means honoring your own needs. Allow yourself downtime without guilt. Recognize that you deserve rest just as much as anyone else.

Celebrate Yourself With Small Acts of Kindness
Treat yourself to something that makes you feel good. It could be as simple as a quiet cup of tea, a walk in nature, or a new book you’ve been wanting to read. These small gestures are ways of showing gratitude to yourself.

As we practice gratitude and thankfulness this season, let’s remember to include ourselves in that circle of appreciation. You’re doing amazing things, and you deserve a little gratitude, too!

Can’t wait for you to share these during an S.O.S. moment this month!
