Lisa Phillipson a lifelong metro-east resident, started leading as a young adult as a manager at McDonalds, proudly stating she attended and passed Hamburger University. Received her education at SIUe with a degree in Communication. Working in the St. Louis Public Schools with children with speech disorders, working as the executive director of Easter Seals Southwestern Illinois and the past 21 years at Hospice of Southern Illinois as the Community and Education Director. Recently Lisa started her own brand Positively Leading. Sharing lessons learned from a career in leading, the mistakes, wins and lessons learned along the way.
Being an authentic leader is a style of leadership that focuses on transparent and ethical leader behavior and encourages open sharing of information needed to make decisions while accepting your teams input. Evaluating your own ideas, views and past experiences and how they impact your leadership style. Being confident, not perfect, authentic and genuine will build trust between you and the people you interact with and care about.
