Pink Ribbon Good (PRG) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring that no one faces breast or gynecological cancer alone. The organization provides free, practical support to patients and their families, including healthy meals, rides to treatment, peer support, and essential household care. All services are offered completely free of charge to clients and their families, regardless of age, stage of diagnosis, or socio-economic status. Founded in Dayton, Ohio, PRG has since expanded into multiple regions, including St. Louis, and has delivered more than one million meals to date.
PRG’s mission is deeply rooted in the story of CEO and Founder Heather Salazar. Heather and her husband adopted the infant daughter of a young mother with stage 4 breast cancer who later passed away. Shortly afterward, Heather herself was diagnosed with breast cancer. Surviving her diagnosis gave her a powerful perspective on the challenges families face during treatment, inspiring her to lead PRG and grow it into a nationally recognized support network for those battling cancer.
In the St. Louis region, PRG serves patients and families within a 40-mile radius of downtown. Community Engagement Coordinator Mallary Vasquez carries this mission forward by fundraising, hosting peer support groups, managing regional social media outreach, and building partnerships with local organizations. In 2024 alone, PRG St. Louis provided more than 55,000 meals, nearly 3,700 rides to treatment, close to 600 cleaning kits, and welcomed over 1,600 clients to peer support events. These efforts reflect PRG’s unwavering commitment to removing everyday burdens so patients can focus on healing, knowing they do not face their cancer journey alone.
Join Mallary Vasquez, Community Engagement Coordinator for Pink Ribbon Good St. Louis, as she shares the inspiring story behind the organization, the impact it has on families facing breast and gynecological cancer, and the free services available to anyone with a diagnosis.
