I came across Women Empowering Women during a pivotal time in my career. If it weren’t for the women I met within the Houston Chapter I may have moved in a different direction. These women truly breathe life into you. As a result of my experience, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to share WEW on the North side of town. I am all about championing the belief that women not only belong but play an indispensable role in shaping our communities and society at large.

Q&A with Chapter Leader Migdalia

Why do you believe in WEW mission?

I believe that every woman should be able to have a seat at the table, to know they are not alone and that they can create a community within a community that supports and promotes her when she is not in the room.

Can you describe a memorable networking relationship?

Just this morning I was able to talk with a lady that caught my attention during our 30 second speeches and her boldness and what she stood for (mental health for women) drew me to her. At the end of the event we were the last two people standing in the room connecting with each other and scheduled a follow up meeting to learn more about our visions.

What are some present and/or past organizations you have been a part of?
