Let’s Collaborate – And I Mean That

Grab your coffee. (You know I have mine!) I want to talk about something I feel really strongly about… collaboration. Not the buzzword version of it. The real kind. The kind where you actually do the thing, not just say it.
I talk about collaboration a lot. Like, a lot a lot. And it’s one of the reasons why WEW was created.
I’ve been doing some work with 2 incredible people who are helping me take a hard look at where I’m still operating IN my businesses instead of ON them. (I hate calling them coaches – that word doesn’t quite fit – but let’s just say they’re the kind of people who see the things you don’t and help with accountability.) I believe strongly that EVERYONE should have people like this in their circle – but that’s a conversation for another day.
Here’s what this really boils down to: This organization is called “Women Empowering Women”. NOT “Michell Empowering Women.” And if I truly believe that – and I do, with everything in me – then I need to walk the walk in ALL areas of WEW. I need to create space for women to step into other roles here too. And what better place to start than right here, in your inbox, on your social media feed website, through social media on a national platform with tens of thousands of readers?
So here’s what I’m doing. Over the next few months, some of our incredible chapter leaders and WEW members are going to be writing the newsletters/blog posts. You’re going to hear voices that aren’t mine. Perspectives I don’t have. Stories that might hit differently… maybe even more deeply… because they come from someone who’s sitting exactly where you are.
I love writing these. Sharing my experiences, my wins, my stumbles – it fills me up. But letting go of that? Also fills me up. Because it means this thing we’ve built together is bigger than me. It always was.
So I get to take a little bit of a summer breather. I’m not disappearing. Just stepping back and trusting the incredible women around me to hold this with me. That’s not weakness. That’s the whole point. And who knows – if this goes well and we have a large response, maybe we’ll continue this as a once-a-month guest spot!
If you’re a WEW member and you’ve got something to say – a lesson learned, a struggle you came through, a perspective that changed everything for you – I want to hear from you. Just send us an email with a topic you’d love to write about. If we have space and availability, I would love to give your voice a national platform.
So… shall we collaborate? I think we should. (My “coaches” will be so proud I moved forward with this too!)
Looking forward to hearing from you.
