Spring always brings a feeling of fresh energy. Longer days and more sunlight. I can’t get enough!

It’s also a great reminder to reconnect with the people around us.

One thing I’ve learned over the years is that friendship can absolutely be a business strategy.

Some of the best opportunities don’t come from pitching ourselves. They come from genuine conversations, shared experiences, and relationships built over time.

Yes, I get web design clients all the time from connections I’ve made. But I’m also part owner of software company because of a business friendship. I purchased a thriving popsicle business with my daughters because of a conversation with a colleague.

This month, challenge yourself to start just one new conversation.

Try asking someone:

“What’s something exciting you’re working on right now?” or “What, what job would you choose?”

You never know where that conversation might lead.
