The Adult Version of Raking Leaves Into a Pile and Jumping In

Remember when fall was just FUN?
As a kid, fall meant jumping into a pile of leaves someone had just spent an hour raking, figuring out your Halloween costume, sitting around a bonfire, going to football games and eating way too many caramel apples. Nobody asked what the ROI was on the bonfire. You didn’t need to justify whether jumping in the leaves was a good use of your time. You just did it because it was fun.
Somewhere along the way, we became adults and turned October into another month of appointments, meetings, obligations and things we need to get done before the holidays arrive. And if you’re a business owner, we’ve somehow convinced ourselves that even the FUN things should probably include networking, professional development or at least a potential business connection.
But here’s a little secret… networking can actually be fun too. (Mostly because we call it CONNECTworking!)
October is FULL of opportunities to get out of the house, meet some new people, reconnect with women you haven’t seen in a while and simply enjoy yourself with WEW. We’ve got chapter meetings happening all over, a Happy Hour event, our Vampire Ball FANG-raiser and even the opportunity to support some incredible women taking the stage at TEDxStLouis Women.
Yes, you might make a great business connection. You might meet your next client, collaborator or referral partner. You might walk away from a chapter meeting with an idea that changes something in your business.
Or you might just meet someone you really like talking to and have a great time.
That counts too.
So consider this your adult version of raking all the leaves into a giant pile and jumping in. Pick something below, put it on your calendar and COME HAVE SOME FUN WITH US.
Not everything needs an ROI. Sometimes getting out, laughing, meeting people and enjoying yourself is reason enough.
