Heather Freed is a licensed clinical social worker and nonprofit executive with 14+ years’ experience leveraging relationships and leadership expertise to move organizations to the next level. Heather has worn many hats throughout her nonprofit career including psychotherapy, community outreach, program development and evaluation, marketing communications and fundraising.

Heather previously served as the Executive Director for a youth mental health nonprofit in Chicago and was responsible for writing and publishing two evidence-based school curricula on teen depression that has been taught in over 200 schools both nationally and internationally.

Since 2019 Heather has served as the President & CEO for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwestern Illinois, founded in 1980 and responsible for serving thousands of youth across St. Clair, Madison, Clinton and Monroe counties in southwestern Illinois.
